Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101101
Firefox/4.0b8pre Fennec/4.0b3pre

STR:
1. Open fennec desktop build
2. Open google.com (or gmail.com)
3. Type into search box (or type username in gmail)

Expected result:
You should be able to type into google and gmail

Actual result:
No input from keyboard. I cannot type into any webpage.

Win Fennec can still type.  Looks like a Mac OS X only.

For the record, this isn't a recent regression.  This is something that's been plaguing the nightlies since we turned IPC on.  Stechz suspects the correct block in the frontend in the chrome process isn't receiving focus, so we don't get any key events to pass to content.

Wait, what? Why are we bothering with this? We know there are all kinds of e10s problems on mac, and we're mostly ignoring them on purpose. I think we should just say that mac desktop builds are not usable and unblock on this. Please.

I think I agree with you.  However, developers might want to use the mac build so that they can test out addons or potential changes.  It isn't that hard to get a linux vm or dual boot, but I am not sure if that bar is too high or not.

FWIW, I don't think this is something for Josh Aas.  It looks like some kind of focus problem in chrome, where the element that receives key events and forwards them to content isn't actually getting the events.
