User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 Firefox/3.6.12 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 Firefox/3.6.12 PLEASE don't just mark this as a duplicate of Bug #592185! It is *not* exactly the same. and Bug #592185 is marked as "fixed" and this problem is *not*. When I close Firefox with the red "x" in the upper right hand corner, my tabs are not saved. (Unlike Bug #592185 I do *not* have my menu bar hidden.) Tabs are saved when exiting from the File menu. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox. 2. Open 2 or more tabs and navigate to websites within those tabs. 3. Close Firefox using the red "x" in the upper right hand corner. 4. Firefox will give a warning that you are going to close multiple tabs. Click "OK". 5. Reopen Firefox. There will be no tabs. Alternate ending: 1. Open Firefox. 2. Open 2 or more tabs and navigate to websites within those tabs. 3. Close Firefox using the File menu in the upper left hand corner. 4. Firefox will ask if you want to close multiple tabs (presuming the "Options" settings are correct, which mine are. I have just checked them). Click "OK". 5. Reopen Firefox. Your tabs will reappear. Actual Results: I lost my tabs when I closed with the red "x", but not when I closed through the File menu. Expected Results: It should have saved my tabs, no matter where I closed from
This is now working, but I'm not sure why. At some point yesterday, FF reported a crash and then opened a new window, which was the window that had disappeared several days ago. I think this is what fixed the bug, but the delayed crash report could be another bug... I think it took more than 24 hours for it to report and bring back my window.
If you continue to experience such an issue with current nightly builds (http://nightly.mozilla.org/), please say so here, giving clear steps to reproduce. Otherwise this bug will be closed as INVALID.
