RTM N6 bits 2000-11-08-01 O/S: Win98 System config requirements: 1. Make sure there is only around 100MB HD space free on C:\ 2. Make sure D:\ or other Drive/partition has 500+MB free 3. Delete the contents of system Temp directory Steps: 1. Launch N6Setup.exe blob on the shipping N6 CD media 2. Select Next on the Welcome screen 3. Accept the License Agreement 4. Leave Default Destination path 5. Select the Full installation option on the Setup Type screen 6. Select Next (the "Disk Space Check" dialog appears) 7. Select the [OK] button 8. Change the Default Destination Directory to D:\ or a drive with sufficient disk space 9. Select the Next button on the Setup Type Results: The "Disk Space Check" dialog appears stating: "Setup has detected insufficient disk space to continue with installation process on C: for the path: C:\Windows\System\ ..." This text and reference to C:\Windows\System\ may be confusing to the end-user and needs to be updated, or a new solution should be provided to avoid this message altogether. A possible solution, allowing installation to continue, could be a silent detection of a drive/partition with sufficient space to extract to then clean up aftwards.

How much free disk space do users need on the C: drive? In your example, 100MB was not enough (!)
this is the same problem with bug 53622, but with the system dir instead. A better disk space warning dialog is in order here. Over to Curt.
