Why it's bad:
some emails have bad date of creation (22 sep 1960 for example) or big timezone difference -12 hours. when it occour email won't be on top of list. it's hard to find it when your mailbox contain 2000 emails.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
just look in source of any messages
Actual Results:  
timestamps in source different, timestamps in messages list the same and equal date of creation

Expected Results:  
"reciveing" timestamp should be date of receiving

I don't have english version of thunderbird and can't switch language (sic!) to find name of columns. in russian thunderbird it's "Дата" and "Получено"

IMAP folder? If yes, it's already reported problem to Bug 402594.

yes, can't find it with search. sorry.
bug was found 2007-11-05 and still exist.
even ms outlook can read it :)
looks like a time to try find something better then mozilla for email.
