A while ago, HTML5 changed to include MathML named characters that expand to two characters. Should support those.

Per discussion with jst, nominating all HTML5 parsing spec change bugs as blockers. The reason why this bug should be fixed by Firefox 4 is that it would be unfortunate to have the HTML and XML code paths support a different set of named characters and it would be unfortunate introduce doubt about which named characters work by having the set of named characters not match the spec first and having the set of named characters change from release to release.
