User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 BTRS28059 Firefox/3.6.12 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 BTRS28059 Firefox/3.6.12 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729) In the address line (the place where you write the URL's), when I use 'cut' (in windows: control+x, or right mouse click 'cut') and then I use 'undo', the content of the address line does not re-appear, unless I click 'undo' for 3-4 times. Very annoying bug. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to the address line (called also address bar?) and make sure there is a valid URL address over there. 2.click 'cut' (right mouse or control+x). At this point the address is deleted. 3. click 'undo' (right mouse or control+z). Actual Results: Bug - the address does not come back! Expected Results: the address should come back (but it doesn't)

I am not a firefox expert. I just installed a new version and the problem persists.
Please try following the instructions at the links provided for safe mode - this will tell us if an extension you are running is causing the issue. If safe mode doesn't resolve the issue, please try creating a new profile by following the instructions at the link provided - this tells us if there is a profile setting that is causing your issue.
Well, it seems that cute&paste started working in safe mode. Even if the problem was created by an extension, in my opinion this is still a bug because Firefox allows an extension to take over a very basic feature. I don't install many extensions. Only the very popular and very common.
Can you track down the extension causing the issue and post back? Instructions at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes (Basically disable them all and re-enable 1 by 1 until you find the one at fault)

I see that I have two kinds of additional software: 1. Extensions 2. Plugins In my computer there are three extensions (Java Console, Microsof.Net framework assistant , RealPlayer Browser Record plugin. Also there is Babylon toolsbar which is always disabled) However, there are many Plugins - 17 - where did they come from :). Do I need to check also the Plugings, or only the Extensions?
Just the extensions should track it down
I am not sure - but it seems to me that the problem was caused by "Java console 6.0.16". The problem occurs only when: 1. This extension is Enabled 2. I go to a tab, cut the address 3. Switch to another tab 4. Go back to the first tab and click "undo" 5. I need to click "undo" few times before it works.
The latest version of Java is 6.0.22 -> you should try updating and see if that resolves the issue
I don't need this extension, so from my point of view this matter is closed. Thanks.
Sorry, my mistake. This bug still occurs even that "Java console" is disabled. When I previously checked there was no problem, but now the problem returns. Maybe only when there are many open TABS this happens. However, this annoying bug is but still minor, so it depends on you if to continue investigating this issue.

Reporter -> Are you still experiencing this issue with the latest version of Firefox 4?
(In reply to comment #14) > Reporter -> Are you still experiencing this issue with the latest version of > Firefox 4? It seems to work now, however there are still some very minor issues with cut and undo, for example, try the following: 1. Open a tab and enter into any website. 2. Select the URL text (with the mouse) and click "cut". 3. Open a new tab 4. In the new tab do UNDO (using the right mouse button). 5. Actual result - the URL changes to the one that was cut 6. Expected result - empty URL since for the new tab there was no history.
