If the web page make a Cross-domain XHR request and use upload progress event handlers, then a preflight is done.

This mechanism is here to prevent sniffing for existence of servers.

It's annoying because the web services have to handle correctly this preflight, which not always the case.

So, another option would be to fake upload events if the server doesn't exist.
Actually, what i more had in mind was to use normal events if a XHR request already has been successfully done to the server from a specific cross-domain site, since then that site already knows that the server already exists.
