Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Fennec in portrait orientation.
2. Load the attached test case.
3. Tap the link, and immediately (while the tap highlight is visible) start panning.
Expected results: Tap highlight disappears and page pans
Actual results: A large portion of the time, a portion of the page goes grey and a portion goes white; the page content disappears.
I've seen this in the wild, but I'm not sure exactly what circumstances trigger it. It seems to happen only if the tap highlight extends past the edge of the screen, but that alone is not sufficient.

You can see this happening some in this YouTube video at 5:00-5:10: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPl3jA9iMl4
With the new checkerboarding patch applied, the "gray" area now appears as checkerboard instead.

Hmm, I can't seem to repro using yesterday's nightly.

I'm still seeing this on trunk, especially when scrolling on http://i.engadget.com/ whenever I touch a link that overlaps the bottom edge of the screen. I'll try to put together a more reliable test case.

I haven't seen this in a while on trunk.
