611679 - Menus (and history navigation) stops working occasionally

Seemingly random event: After some use Firefox menus and Back/Forward history drop downs will not paint correctly.  I get a "ghost" image of the menu's borders (outline) superimposed on the browser window, but the menu background and contents are not painted at all.  Once this starts happening, the browser starts having other issues (slow to load content, sluggish overall performance).
This has occurred in earlier sub versions of this release (3.6.x) as well.  I wish I could give better information on how to reproduce this issue but it seems to be sporadic.

I would expect the menus to appear (fully populated) when I click the menu heading or the Forward/Back drop down (history) arrows.

How often do you have this problem? Could you try out Firefox 4.0 Beta 7 if it is still persistent?

It doesn't happen regularly.  I would prefer to wait for the official Firefox 4 release since I understand that it will be coming out soon.

It will be hard to tell for sure if FF4 solves the problem until I have been running it for a few months since it could take that long before I had the problem again.

Please check with the latest and upcoming beta 10 of Firefox 4. Is it fixed now for you?
