Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to addons.mozilla.org
2. During page load, try to open and close the tab sidebar a couple of times

Actual Results:
The tab button is not painted immediately and shows checkerboards for about a second

Expected Results:
The tab button should not be checkerboarded at any point during page load.
