We may not be able to automatically generate thumbnails for new videos, but I can get some ready for migrated videos. Hopefully the ones grabbed locally using my ffmpeg install will be good enough.

Update:
Done this for flv and ogg files.
Not yet for swfs but there's a potential way:

Let's hope that works, else the swfs will have to be taken care of manually.

Couldn't get mencoder to work well on the mac... or, at all. Given that we're not adding new SWFs anyway, it's not crucial for 2.3.

If anyone wants them, file a separate bug please :)
