User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 Firefox/3.6.12 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: 3.6.1 Windows In previous editions of Thunderbird, when the mouse hovers over a URL linked phrase the underlying link address would be displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen. It doesn't do that anymore. The purpose of hovering over a link was to help identify malware - now without that "hover information" it's a bit dangerous to just click on a linked URL Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In an incoming message, just move the mouse over a highlighted segment 2. Nothing is displayed anywhere showing the actual URL linked to. 3. Expected Results: Hovering over a URL link should display the actual URL address

There is no exploit here that needs to stay hidden.

hmm...so it's an undocumented feature then eh? How do you suggest a user determine whether a URL link in a message is a valid, ie: non-malware, address?
Came from here: http://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging/topics/viewing_url_link_in_messages In TB 3.1.6/Linux I /do/ see the URL on the status bar.

Actually I am using TB 3.1.6 under XP. I did not remove, nor add any apps, themes, etc to TB, nor do I start my machines in SafeMode. Can anyone who uses TB 3.1.6 under WinXP confirm they can see the underlying URL link in a message?
Problem solved...somehow the STATUS BAR was de-selected in the menu. Clicking/activating it puts the URL info where it was previously. Duh...sorry for creating an issue with this!
