We would like to request to change Firefox 4 default Live Bookmark from BBC to MCOT (Mass Communication Organisation of Thailand).

The feed url is http://www.mcot.net/cfcustom/cache_page/c109.xml
One thing to do, has anyone on the Thai community team contacted mcot.net to let them know that we will be including them in the "Live Bookmark" feature in the Thai version of Firefox? We will need to let them know that if they approve, their servers will receive an increased load, as every running Thai version of Firefox will ping their servers once per minute for updates. Can someone reach out to mcot.net to explain the feature and confirm that they are OK with us doing that? Please let me know what you find out.
Oh. Once per minute; That's a huge load.

Let me check with mcot.net, and will let you know if I've got more information.
There are also a few technical issues that the feed validator finds, including a bad encoding header. See http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mcot.net%2Fcfcustom%2Fcache_page%2Fc109.xml for details.

If you contact them, it'd be good to make them aware of those.
we're finding more alternatives for this. :)
Axel and I are also trying to confirm that Firefox pings the service once per ?. I thought it was 1 minute, but it might be longer. However, we have had information from the past that this feature in Firefox has crashed the servers of some other locales who chose a local news feed. Please also look for a service that doesn't use an intermediary like Feedburner. We would like Firefox to communicate directly with the news service.
Seth, We're thinking about using feedburners to reduce server load, otherwise it would be very hard for 'them'.

Could you confirm the frequency of feed ping? Therefore we can have some estimated load number to talk to the feed providers.

The ping happens every 15 minutes.
Keng, any update on this? Should we close this as WONTFIX?
Since we haven't come up with a good news source yet. this should be marked as WONTFIX.
