User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101113 Gentoo Firefox/3.6.12
Build Identifier:

Simply put:
Thunderbird dirties every 5 minutes some semmingly randomly selected *.msf files. This is very good for Laptop battery life.
Thunderbird has removed the choice to display unread messages in the folder pane. The 'emergency' plugin is incomplete as it doesn't use bold for message numbers where appropriate.
The 'today' field in the status bar shows '31' as the date icon which is irritating at least.
Accessing e.g. the "Edit" menu takes at least 5 to 10 seconds (between mouse click and menu appearance).
BTW: The global indexing is switched of for good.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Get yourself a few million mails on at least two different IMAP servers and see for yourself. The second IMAP server with the majority of mails shall be located on localhost.

Actual Results:
FOOBAR. I's not yet clear to me if I'm heading back to Thunderbird 2.x or a completel< different MUA.

Expected Results:
No facy OutF*** Extreme clone but a useable MUA.

Im going to close this bug as WONTFIX as I do have had enough experience with bugs at Mozilla foundation. Open for years, never fixed. This is just for reference what is badly broken and what won't be fixed, ever.
You can scrap my account after I have closed this bug.
They won't fix it, anyway.

Unless you scrap my acount I'll set this to wontfix again and again...
Resolution: INVALID → WONTFIX
That would be even more pointless and silly than this bug is already: wontfix has a particular meaning, which is not the meaning you think it has. It means, roughly, "a fix for this bug would be too risky, too unmaintainable, or would cause other bugs that would be more severe than this bug, so even if someone puts the best possible patch for it in the bug, we will not accept that patch." What you mean is instead "I want to bitch about how I don't like six different things, and I'm going to bitch about them in a single bug, wasting everyone's time, and then act like a spoiled child who is sure he isn't going to get an ice cream cone so he's going to have a tantrum about not getting one before he even knows whether or not he will," and the proper resolution for that bug is invalid.
I qouted somple problens thar one can eaysily trace using:

echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/block_dump

As, as expected, bug maintainers are just too stupid to thing of simple thigs like this there is no reason for me to trace this any further.
BTW: I just did ask Sony Music if Mozilla Foundation is by any means allowed to use the name "Hendrix". When things come together I'm playing it rough.
