User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b7) Gecko/20101111 Firefox/4.0b7 Iceweasel/4.0b7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b7) Gecko/20101111 Firefox/4.0b7 Iceweasel/4.0b7 The new target display in Firefox 4 really is quite a good thing, and I like it in principle. But my rather unusual white-on-grey color scheme seems to confound it. The default (and only available) color for the target display is a dark grey. One that is similar to the dark grey I use for text box backgrounds. So similar in fact that it's completely impossible to see with the naked eye, and I effectively end up without any target display. I've no idea how this should be fixed (all I can think of is an about:config setting to change the target display text color), but it is still a pretty nasty problem. Also, to be clear, this is with the default theme. I've changed nothing about the colors Firefox uses by default. I also assume this can be made to happen on all platforms, so I have not marked this as Linux-specific. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set operating system to light text on dark background color scheme. 2. Hover over any link in Firefox. Actual Results: Target display cannot be seen easily (if at all). Expected Results: Uncertain, though anything's better than what I'm seeing now.

This sounds like a dupe of bug 597382, but I'm not sure if it's the same problem. Based on comment 3, it may be a problem with your OS theme.
This may be the same problem I have, in Ubuntu 10.4 (GNOME). The background of the target url box comes from the Tooltip Background Color in GNOME appearance (tested this by customizing it), however the text color from the url box is not taken from the Tooltip Text Color in GNOME. This can result in a color mismatch. I can only solve this by editing the tooltip colors in GNOME, but this breaks my theme in other places. (btw: due to e-mail addresses not being obfuscated on this site, I don't read email to this address (actually it's bounced)). Martijn
Resolving invalid due to bug 541656. (In reply to comment #4) > This may be the same problem I have, in Ubuntu 10.4 (GNOME). The background of > the target url box This bug was filed when targets were shown in the location bar. It's not about the target box that shipped in Firefox 4.
