It runs as long as there is no connection to the server on the internet. As soon as it has completed the logon to the server and then started to download the first email it crashes.

I have to read my emails by directly accessing the server on the web browser (firefox).

The crashing started some time after I had started to use Win7. 

It generates a crash report each time which it says it is sending somewhere.

Reproducible: Always

Marking as not s-s for now as there's nothing like an attack vector here.

Yes indeed!
In fact I can tell you that the crashing started just after installling ESET!
I think we have found the culprit.
What do I do next?

I have now replaced ESET with McAfee and all is now well.

A bug report already exists for ESET, and Peter is no longer using ESET and unlikely to follow up with ESET, so I'm closing this incomplete
