This behavior, if not explicitly by design, is in-line with Panorama's philosophy. We like there to always be free space in the Panorama UI so that the user can move tabs out of groups, and create new groups.

I think that Automatic resize of group box is the one of the basic function of the Panorama. Though such the basic function broken, is it WONTFIX? Basic function should be fixed. ->REOPEN and ask useless-UI

Alice, I assume the behavior you're looking for is that, when the screen gets smaller, the entire group should fit within the window (instead of extending past the window, as it does for a while in your video)? If that's the case, that will be fixed via bug 601534.
Depends on: 601534

Yes, that's right.

We've punted on 601534. I hope to tweak resize and/or pushAway, though, which hopefully will improve this.
This still exists in Firefox 7, but I couldn't reproduce in Firefox 9/10. Can you confirm?

It works fine for me on with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:10.0a1) Gecko/20110928 Firefox/10.0a1

Panorama has been removed from Firefox 45, currently in Beta and scheduled for release on March 7th. As such, I'm closing all existing Panorama bugs. If you are still using Panorama, you will see a deprecation message in Firefox 44, and when 45 is released your tab group data will be migrated to bookmarks, with a folder for each group. There are also a few addons offering similar functionality. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-removal for more info. We're removing Panorama because it has extremely low usage (about 0.01% of users), and has a large number of bugs and usability issues. The cost of fixing all those issues is far too high to justify, and so we'll instead be focusing our time and energy on improving other parts of Firefox.
