RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 613714

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.0; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101127 Firefox/4.0b8pre
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.0; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101127 Firefox/4.0b8pre

On the new firefox 4.0b8pre the alert style has been redesigned with a grey gradient and the web page blurred. I know this is an enhancement (web pages can't open fake alerts) but on old computers it takes 10 seconds +/- to show up, and this is quite annoying. In my opinion this new feature should be disabled on old computers (for ex. on all win 2000), or an option should be added in about:config to disable it.
Another issue about alerts is that in a multi-line alert text is rendered in a scrolling block, and this is not very good as the user has to scroll it. I think it would be better to show scrollbars only when the alert has too much lines, for ex. >20 lines. BTW I don't speak either c++ or mozilla-js so I can't know if there are technical problems.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open an alert() in a web page
Actual Results:
new-style alert with blurred page and long time waiting for alert

Expected Results:
I suggest returning to the old style on old system or with an option on about:config
