User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101201 Firefox/4.0b8pre Build Identifier: Crash Reports for both Firefox and Thunderbird take a very long time to submit after I press either the Quit or the Restart button in the dialog that announces a crash. In fact, the process is so slow that for quite a long time I assumed it didn't work, so canceled or killed the process. That kind of confusion and disincentive does you no good. Plus, I now have a mass of pending reports whose usefulness is doubtful to either the TB or FF development efforts. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Crash. 2. Type some explaining text in the crash report dialog 3. Accept either the Quit or the Restart button. 4. Wait. The dialog shows a "busy" indicator. Its work continues 7 - 9 minutes, more or less. Mac Book Pro, cable modem so I don't think this can be about slow network.
This certainly isn't something that everyone is seeing. Crash reports take less than 5 seconds to submit for me, usually. How large are the .dmp files in your ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Crash Reports/pending directory?

No. Crashes in Firefox these days are not caught by Crash Reporter. The few crashes in Thunderbird have been caught, and reported quickly.
