I loaded a anti tracking software "ghostery" as a mozilla add in and sync does not appear to be working any more I get msg."error while syncing" what to do. I think ghostery is great and would not want to unload it if I don't have to.

You should also file a bug with the company that produces ghostery: http://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery

I personally use Ghostery and Sync works fine for me. Please reopen if you can still produce with Firefox 12 or newer.
