The file size info on the main Firefox download buttons is no longer necessary...please remove it as part of the new site's design changes.
This has been approved by both the product & product marketing teams. Thanks!

Removed from the home page in r78776. Still appears in the non-Javascript version of the download buttons so far.

Alex, I'm wondering if we should strip all of the file-size related stuff out of the product-details lib - it could sure use the simplification. I'm not sure if it's used for anything other than display in the download buttons.

Man, that would be nice. I don't know anything else it's used for, but this could affect multiple sites, so we should ask more broadly.

It originally came from moz-eu. +1 for stripping it out. It's not kept up to date.

CC'ing :standard8. Mark, is it ok with you if file size is dropped from the download buttons on mozillamessaging.com?

We keep it up to date via scripts. It isn't that hard.

I'm surprised its being stripped out, but I'm not against it if it is also being dropped from mozilla.com.

I'm not opposed to stripping it out if it's not kept up to date on mozilla.com.

What's the status of this? Doesn't seem like anyone is opposed.

File size removed from download buttons on MozillaMessaging.com in preparation for stripping it out of the product-details lib entirely (r79822).

Does this include all sites? I was going to file a bug regarding this page:
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/3.6.24/whatsnew/
I've had a couple webmaster emails that were concerned the actual size was much larger.

Good catch - I missed that page. Fixed in trunk - should go out on Tues with our 4.6 release.
