Details
(Whiteboard: [vkb])
BuildID: Mozilla /5.0 (Android;Linux armv7l;rv:2.0b8pre)Gecko/20101207 Firefox/4.0b8pre Fennec /4.0b3pre
Devices: Samsung Galaxy S, Motorola Droid 2.
Prerequisites: Use device's vkb.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to google.com
2. Start typing: "aol m". The following list of suggestions is offered: aol mail, aol music, aol mail login, aol music radio
3. Select "aol mail login" from the list of suggestions.
4. Tap in google search field again.
5. Clear field using "Delete" key from device's skb
Expected results:
With step 3, a list of results for "aol mail login" is displayed. Search field contains this string.
With step 4, cursor is at the end of "aol mail login" string
With step 5, field is cleared.
Actual results:
With step 3, search field contains: "aol mil login" ("a" from "mail" was somehow omitted)
With step 4, cursor is after "aol m" and not at the end of the string
With step 5, field is not cleared. In fact no character is deleted.
On HTC Desire behavior is different:
I start typing text in Google Search field, but Google suggestions are not displayed unless I delete at least one character.

ahoza: Does this still happen for you on recent nightly? I was not able to easily reproduce this using your steps.
Behavior described in comment 0 (except for step 5 (clearing the field)- which works fine now) reproduces all the time with the last nightly build. Verified on Motorola Droid 2 and HTC Desire A8181.

Try to enter a search term in www.google.com.The word doesn't appear in the search bar or only the first two letters entered appear. Fennec's suggestion are displayed. If you chose one suggestion from Fennec the word doesn't appear in the search bar. Search results are displayed for the suggested word.

Yeah, I can't reproduce any of this, and haven't been able to.
I can reproduce always on buildID: Mozilla /5.0 (Android;Linux armv7l;rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110120 Firefox/4.0b10pre Fennec /4.0b4pre, devices: Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Desire A8181.
On HTC Desire the behavior varies. It's either the one described in comment 3 or the one in comment 4.

Not sure why this is P1, based on how difficult it seems to be to reproduce.

Still can't reproduce this on my SGS.
Based on no reply to comment #10 and my own difficulty reproducing, I think we should reconsider whether this is blocking.
