We need to increase the amount of slaves on releng staging.  The plan is as follows:

- purchase whatever version of minis we can get (ie, don't have to be 2.26Ghz, but they do all have to match each other
- the current talos staging machines (there are 14) will become production addon testers as they are 2.26Ghz and will match the rest of the production talos world

The current rev of minis don't support any known distro of linux. How are these going to be imaged?

Are there any after market sellers of previous versions that would run linux?  I was only thinking of fixing the Ghz change issue and hadn't considered that they would no longer be able to take our images...

There are going to be split between windows (win7, win764, winxp), mac (leopard, snow leopard) and linux (fedora, fedora64).

Out of the 21 only 6 will be running linux.

Will you ever care about results between OSX and Windows?

I'd prefer to buy 1u machines for all but OSX.

It is important to get this to match up as much as possible with the production talos pool - otherwise our staging runs won't indicate actual issues.  I at least would like to be using the standard images that we've created for talos slaves.

* You're already pretty different on the platform with the Minis
* This is just staging which should represent prod but not have to match
* There are operational issues with continuing to use Minis. 
* You can't run Linux on today's Minis.

A couple of those issues suggest not using Minis except for OSX.

The set up involved if I lose the ability to work from the base images is, shall we say, intense.

I can give up the matching hardware for the use of the images is pretty important.

Revisiting old bugs... This was for the amotest environment, which has been up in scl1 for quite some time at this point.
