Hi, 

unfortunately, the user interface of thunderbird is getting worse and worse with every revision. 

Thunderbird's interface was great, small, compact, clearly arranged. Easy to use. 

Now, thunderbird is an arbitrary heap of lots of arbitrary spread buttons and input windows, lots of horizontal and especially vertical screen spaces wasted for absolutely useless and ugly UI design. User actions are slowed down due to the need to search and find arbitrarily hidden buttons. The search options are a nightmare and produce anoying, overblown and useless message lists. The worst of all: There is not the slightest advantage over the old interface. It is just degraded. I do not see any step forward. It is just getting worse and worse, as if someone just wants to change as much as possible for no good reason. As if someone insisted on getting tabs without spending a second what they could be good for, and now people are burdened with useless search results just to justify the invention of tabs. And so on.

The new interface is bumpy, bulky, not ergonomic, and unusable on netbooks with 1024x600 screens. 

Whoever is doing these design decisions, please stop him. This is really bad and incompetent work. Volunteer does not imply competence.
