User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101130 Firefox/3.6.13 Ubiquity/0.1.4 Build Identifier: Thunderbird 3.1.6, Lightning 1.0b3pre from 12/9/10 Using the latest update of Lightning on the latest 3.1.6 Thunderbird, and using either the standard theme or a custom one (I've been using Silvermel), messages in fixed-width content will extend the message pane beyond its expected width to overlap the Today pane provided by Lightning. I noticed this on Win7 when using Win+Left and Win+Right to throw TB and another window to their respective halves of the screen; half my screen is narrow enough for this bug to manifest. I don't have a machine with TB3.3 to test on, so I can't confirm if this is fixed in later builds... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use TB 3.1.6 and a recent Lightning. 2. Open the Today pane, and show a fixed-width email in the preview pane. 3. Shrink the TB window Actual Results: See screenshot. Expected Results: The message pane should introduce horizontal scrollbars, but the content should not overflow its container.

It seems an extension related issue: please try to start TB in safe-mode and post a feedback here (see how-to start TB in safe-mode http://support.mozillamessaging.com/bg/kb/Safe+Mode )
Yes, it's an extension issue relating to Lightning. The Today pane only exists when Lightning is installed. In any case, this snapshot was taken when all other extensions were disabled; the only things running were a fixed-width email and Lightning.
Component: Message Reader UI → Lightning Only
Product: Thunderbird → Calendar
QA Contact: message-reader → lightning
Target Milestone: --- → 1.0b3
I'm not convinced this belongs in the Lightning component: the message pane is *not* Lightning's fault. In other words, the fact that text is escaping the message pane is only made evident by Lightning, and not caused by it. ... Apparently, I missed one extension. The flaw seems to come from the experimental Mailing List Manager, v0.3.0. I'll follow up with that extension's author.
