The compiler on the buildbot is fine - manual invocations build the shell just fine.  Brent's experiment appears to show that even invoking the shell script used by the buildbot manually works just fine.  So something bad is up with the buildbot.

Rebooting the build slave did _not_ resolve the issue.

The linux Release-Debugger builds have been compiling/running fun for a long time. I do not remember the specifics of what resolved this issue.
