green maximize button doesn't behave as expected

Unlike all other applications running on MacOs X, the green maximize button in firefox makes it fill the whole screen instead of expand the current window in order to show all the content available inside it.

1.Click on the green maximize button of a firefox window

The firefox window fills the whole screen

Expected Results:  
Expand the current window in order to show all the content available inside it.
