I think it would be nice to have the possibility to create (delete and rename
would be nice to have too) directories in the save file dialog. If you want to
organize the files you've downloaded then it's very nasty to open a terminal
before finally saving the file...
Is this a dupe?

"Create directory" is bug 58311 (and already targeted at Mozilla 1.0).
Should this bug be about delete and rename then?

Confirming as enhancement request for the rename & delete button. A bit closely
related to 'create directory,' but still seperate enhancement request.

Mozilla is not, and should not be, a file manager. Sorry.

But it is a matter of convenience. When downloading a file it is very annoying
either to create a directory from a terminal or filemanager (i.e. open the
terminal/filemanager, goto the appropriate directory, create the wished
directory) or to download all the files in one directory and move them arround
later. Every normal Windows-App or Java-App has standard-filechoosers which
allow to do some basic filesystem-changing operations. StarOffice has them as
well. You could argue for every one of these do not have the task of being a
filemanager.
