Build Identifier: 3.1.7
There should be a "reply-to-all" button available even when the original email has only one recipient. This becomes very useful when the original email is one that I sent to one recipient. Then I realize, I want to add more to the original email. I cannot go to my SENT folder and reply to the original recipient. "Reply" posts only my email and not the recipient's.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive an email that has one sender and one recipient
2. No choice for "reply-to-all". Only choice is "reply".
Actual Results:
Inbox window offers only "REPLY" button and no option for "Reply-to-all".
Again this is important when the original email is in your SENT folder, so "Reply" enters my address in the reply window and not the original recipient.
Expected Results:
There should either be another button for "Reply-to-All" or a pulldown under the REPLY button that offers "reply-to-all".
Workaround requires cut and paste of recipient's email into reply window.

There is another workaround : the reply-to-all option is always available from the context menu — that is, right-clicking on the message allows to reply-to-all.
But indeed this is quite upsetting for messages in the SENT folder, and actually I found this report while checking this bug had not been already filed.

Actually, an even better option would be "reply-to-recipient", which could replace the "reply-to-all" option within the SENT folder — obviously, although I can imagine some people would find interest in this option whatever the directory, its main interest would be in the SENT folder.

Replying to a message in the sent folder opens a message with the "To" field set as the person I sent the message to originally, not to me.
Sorry, I disagree. I have Thunderbird 3.1.8 and it definitely responds to sender when replying to an email in the SENT folder. Same with 3.1.7.

Then that's probably a different bug. When you're looking at the sent message, does the From address show up as "You"?

I assume you're talking about two different identities here, correct? I.e. you sent an email from A to B but A and B are both registered as your identities in Thunderbird?
Not sure I understand. I sent email from "me@xyz.com" to "B". I then go to sent folder and hit reply button. Both the From and To fields are populated with "me@xyz.com". "B" shows up nowhere.

I mean when you look at the sent message, before you hit reply. Does the "From" field there look like "from You" or does it look like "from me@xyz.com" (or "from <whatever the display name for me@xyz.com is>")?

In the sent message, From field shows "You" exactly and not me@xyz.com.

FWIW, I confirm each of Dave's replies. Note that in my case all TB accounts are IMAP, in case it would change anything. Also, I have to mention that this is OS independant since I am running under linux as opposed to Dave :
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; fr-FR; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101209 Fedora/3.1.7-0.35.b3pre.fc14 Thunderbird/3.1.7

From the Sent folder, it would like Jim described trigger a reply to self.
