Given that Linux64 shared builds are broken and nobody seems to care, I start to believe we should just switch 2.0 to do all static builds for dep as well and only have the leak test (debug) builds left as being shared.

Callek, Neil, do you agree on that?
I don't mind, but I was hoping to do a fix for linux64 early this week
Looks to me very much like this would fix bug 620115.
