Hi. Looking for sent email that I cannot find. I notices that when I reply to a received email the second time the copy is not showing up in my sent box.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create message email to myself test 1- send - look in sent box copy is there yes test 1
2.Receive email of message to myself test 1- reply subject test 1-2 send. No copy in sent box - copy in Inbox test 1-2
3.Receive replied to email test1-2 in inbox. reply to subject Send as test 1-2-3
4.Copy of sent test1-2-3 email shows up in inbox instead of sent box.
Actual Results:
Also have Outlook 2003 because accounting program works with it. Tried same procedure in steps to reproduce. Copies of sent messages always in sent box. Incomming always in inbox.
I have used Thunderbird forever and do not ever remember having a problem with it especially such a big problem as this.
This may have started in November after an update.
Expected Results:
Sent mail should always be in sent box no matter how many times it is replied to.

Can you verify that Thunderbird as the rights at the OS level to write to the sent folder in your profile (the profile is in %APPDATA% )
Does starting Thunderbird in -safe-mode (as described at http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode) makes the issue go away ?

"Unified Folders" view...
Do see sent mail copy in "Sent" folder of "Local Folders" and/or all other accounts at "All Folders" view of folder pane?

IIRC, phenomenon on Sent at "Unified Folders" view can be observed on IMAP folder only(offline-use=on only issue?)
"Where sent mail copy is saved" is defined at Copies&Folders(and Manage Identities/Edit/Copies&Folders).
Which account's which identity did you select as identity(From: address of reply in comment #0)? Which account's which folder did you select as "folder to save sent mail copy" or the identity(From: address of reply in comment #0)?
If a Sent folder of an IMAP account, is offline-use=on folder?
(Folder Properies/Synchronization of the Sent folder at All Folders view)
If local mail folder of Sent, can you copy a mail to the local Sent folder?

Upgrade from which version of Tb to which version of Tb?
a. Tb 2 -> Tb 3.1.x
b. Tb 2 -> Tb 3.0 -> Tb 3.1
If a., you intentionally use "Unified Folders" view with Tb 3.1.x?
If b., you never changed folder pane view?
