User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 Firefox/3.6.13 Build Identifier: 3.1.7 automatic update to 3.1.6, which was an update to 3.1.5, etc. I have updated every time I receive a new version notification from TB. After updating to 3.1.7 if I select 2 or more messages from any Inbox to drag them to a folder the shadow of the messages shows that I dragged them to the correct location, but they don't actually move. The same thing happens if I use the "File" icon on the toolbar. Multiple attempts ends up leaving the destination folder garbled. Closing and reopening TB doesn't help. Stopping and restarting mail server doesn't help, rebooting client computer and server doesn't help. Downloaded complete version of TB 3.1.6 from your server, installed it in /Applications, opened it, and the same process works perfectly. Installed 3.1.7 into /Applications, opened it, and it fails again. Now back on 3.1.6 and all is well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Follow my Details description. Actual Results: Messages did not move to the other folder. Expected Results: I expected the messages to be moved to the other folder. Default theme, plugins are Attachment Extractor 1.3,5, Correct Identity 1.3.2, Enigmail 1.1.2, Extra Folder Columns 1.1.1, Folderpane Tools 0.6, Restart Thunderbird 1.0. No crash reporter records since it doesn't actually crash. MacBook 2Ghz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 500G HD, OS 1.6.5.

Does it work on 3.1.7 if you start Thunderbird in -safe-mode ? (see http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode for some instructions)
Henry, please see comment 1. Also, what antivirus software do you run?

(afterthoughts) forget the AV question - you're on the Mac! :) What do you mean by garbled - do you see multiple copies of messages? - do some messages subjects not match the message body? - does the information correct if you right-click the folder and choose Repair Folder? screen shot would be helpful

Summary: Mac 10.6.5 TB 3.1.7 Drag multiple messages from inbox to a folder fails. Worked in 3.1.6. Reinstalled 3.1.6 and works again. → 10.6.5 TB 3.1.7 Drag multiple messages from inbox to a folder corrupts in destination folder. Works in 3.1.6
Sorry I never got back with an answer for #1, I've been up to my ears with two customer nightmare projects. I plan to take some time Saturday morning Chicago time and upgrade to 3.1.7 again, retrace all my steps, and make screen shots of everything. By garbled I mean that the subjects do not match the message body after dragging. If I access my e-mail using webmail all is well, so the "garbling" occurs in the TB index. I never knew there was a "Repair Folder", I'll try that if/when it blows up on Saturday. I'll also test it in safe mode. Wayne, as far as your question, "Also, what antivirus software do you run?", isn't the correct answer "Mac OS X 10.6.5" :)

I must have been on an anti-AV kick at the time :)
