Sound works in another browsers, but does not works in Firefox. 
Sound may works when new massage receives. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in 
2. Click on "Быстрые сообщения" or go on a web address http://vkontakte.ru/im.php?act=a_box&popup=1
3. If sound off - turn on
4. Wait for new massage

Actual Results:  
sound do not works

Can you hear sound on other websites using Firefox?

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile

Yes, I hear sound on other websites using Firefox.

Nothing from list above does not help. I turn off all of plugins, but it does not solve the problem. 

Reinstalling does not works.

Did you try a new profile? How is the sound being played (ie. flash, quicktime....)?

@Yakove -> You are seeing hte same issue as Misha? What version of flash are you running? What version of Firefox are you running? What OS are you running? x86 or x64?

Yes, the same issue. I use FF 4b12 and Minefield latest nightly. OS Win7 x86, Flash 10.2.152.26

As I know, the bug appears on all Mozilla browsers

I hear sound on other websites using Firefox.

IE9, Opera 11.01 build 1190, Chrome 10.0.648.119 beta, Safari 5.0.3, are play this sound, but not Firefox(((

I remember that last spring (version 3.5.8 - 3.5.10) in FF, this sound was played correctly. After some update it's gone ...
I Have read several forums, and it became clear that the problem occurs at all, without exception. It seems that the FF (for security) somehow blocking a certain value "autoplay"...

P.S. sorry for my english. I'am from Ukraine...

Please, try to find when it was broken, using builds from ftp://archive.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/

I've got response from VKontakte techsupport to my letter regarding this bug. According to them this problem is caused by wrong content-type of sound message. They are gonna fix it.

Can someone else who originally saw this please verify that it's fixed for them, too, ideally using at least two versions of Firefox and using a non-Firefox Gecko browser?
