Yes, I hear sound on other websites using Firefox. Nothing from list above does not help. I turn off all of plugins, but it does not solve the problem. Reinstalling does not works.
Did you try a new profile? How is the sound being played (ie. flash, quicktime....)?

I have s same problem. I use Firefox 4b13pre and ff 3.6.13 . OS Win7 x86, Flash 10.2.152.26 I hear sound on other websites using Firefox. IE9, Opera 11.01 build 1190, Chrome 10.0.648.119 beta, Safari 5.0.3, are play this sound, but not Firefox(((
I remember that last spring (version 3.5.8 - 3.5.10) in FF, this sound was played correctly. After some update it's gone ... I Have read several forums, and it became clear that the problem occurs at all, without exception. It seems that the FF (for security) somehow blocking a certain value "autoplay"... P.S. sorry for my english. I'am from Ukraine...

I've got response from VKontakte techsupport to my letter regarding this bug. According to them this problem is caused by wrong content-type of sound message. They are gonna fix it.
