Its not a new bug, and i think the summary explain it very good. Firefox dont start automatically, you need to start it either from the shortcut or from the executable file in his Program Folder.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download FF
2. Start Installation
3. Finish Installation
4. FF asks you "Do you want FF to start NOW", you select "Yes"
Actual Results:
Firefox dont start automatically, you need to start it either from the shortcut or from the executable file in his Program Folder.
Expected Results:
Firefox should start automatically after the installation step, and after you check "Start FF now",
It was a clean installation of Firefox 3.6.13. I havent tested FF 4.0 but i doubt its fixed. No addons, personas, themes or extensions installed.

I'm unable to reproduce. I performed the following steps:
1. Downloaded a nightly Firefox 3.6.14pre installer from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-1.9.2/firefox-3.6.14pre.en-US.win32.installer.exe - there have been no installer changes on the stable branch so using a nightly should be the same as using a release.
2. Installed and accepted the defaults.
3. On the last page of the installer left the checkbox checked to launch Firefox / Namoroka now.
4. Clicked the Finish button.
Results: Firefox launched.
Are there any additional steps missing in comment #0? For example, are you running the installer as a different account using run as / run as administrator or anything else?

The video doesn't show how you ran the installer (e.g. how it was launched) which I asked about in comment #3.

sorry about that, missed the beginning of the video.

So, there is a decent chance that it is being launched but Firefox doesn't successfully start.
Is there anything unusual about your system? Is it a VM?
Please check if crash reporting is turned on in Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General tab. The checkbox for Submit crash reports should be checked. If it is please comment in this bug to that affect. If it is not, check the checkbox, exit Firefox, run the installer again, and try to launch Firefox at the end.

Notes: per the video
1. run as / run as administrator is not being used.
2. no error message is being displayed when the installer tries to launch Firefox from the last page of the installer.

Crash report is enabled.
I already have full access to anything in my system(e.g im the Administrator, but will make new video with what you asked)
No error message is showed and the installation proceed normally until he must start..
Its not Virtual Machine, SP2, WinXP, Avira, WF Enabled with exclusion about FF.
All Security Patches installed, and ofcourse i have checked my computer for malware or unwanted actions.
You may ofcourse want logs of any program, if you want to check my software or system settings.
I'll post the video shortly.

Text reply as a comment is actually preferred over a video reply so please don't bother though if it does provide value at some point I will be sure to ask.
