STEPS TO REPRODUCE: On a computer already set up with Sync... 0. Disable all internet connections 1. Open Firefox Preferences, and go to Sync Preferences 2. Click "Add a Device" 3. Enter any code (e.g. aaaa/bbbb/cccc -- or a real code if you like -- the outcome is the same) 4. Click "Next" ACTUAL RESULTS: The text "Please try again." appears, and the code that I've just painstakingly entered disappears. EXPECTED RESULTS: - A more informative warning message like "Connection error" or "Unable to contact server" should appear. - The entered code should not be cleared (?). It hasn't actually been checked for validity yet, so it might very well be valid, and it's a bit cruel to make the user type the same 12 characters of gibberish in again. (only to have it cleared yet again the next time they hit 'Next'...) NOTE: "Please try again." is a particularly un-helpful error message in this case, since trying again does no good if there's no internet connection. (a hint about what the problem is would be more helpful) Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b9pre) Gecko/20101227 Firefox/4.0b9pre
