User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b8) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b8) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b8 I just received a pop-up suggesting I install Macafee site adviser so I accepted and firefox b versions 7 & 8 hung-up. I could close the programme but not restart (firefox pop-up said I couldn't start firefox because it was already running but it had been removed from the applications list in task manager). On restarting the PC and restarting firefox started and the home page (Google.com) displayed but the programme then hung up. The only way to remove the problem was to completely uninstall both firefox 4 and Macafee site adviser. Not that firefox 3 continued to run with Macafee site adviser Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install Macafee Site adiver when running firefox 4 2. 3.

You can always start Firefox in the Firefox safemode ( http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode ) and disable the addon. THe problem itself have to be reported to Mcafee. We can't fix the bug in that addon and they should not mark it compatible with FF4 beta if the addon isn't compatible.

McAfee are working on an updated version of their Site Advisor extension, to prevent the issues it causes with Firefox. To help work out what versions of the extension don't work (for the purposes of blocklisting it in bug 637542), it would be useful to know what version you are using. Please can you go to the page "about:support" (type it without quotes in the address bar) and paste the contents of the extension section as a reply here. Thanks! Reopening since now in the McAfee section, so something for them to sort out.

Is this still an issue with that latest version of Firefox and McAfee SiteAdvisor?

Went through the issue using the following builds/versions: - latest Nightly build available here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/2013-03-10-03-09-06-mozilla-central/ - McAfee SiteAdvisor 3.6.0.187 - Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x86 Launched/Closed the Firefox browser several times without any issues. Visited Google (search a few terms) and other websites without any problems. kedwards, can you reproduce the original issue using the latest version of Nightly & McAfee SiteAdvisor?
