when trying to do the software update, I can't get past the "connect to the update server" step

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:  
when firefox prompts me to install the next update, the above happens. I didn't used to have the problem with the previous versions of firefox.

Expected Results:  
being able to actually download the update :)

I never saw such reports in the past, this is a new problem.

This is either a Client problem or a routing problem.

Please type about:config in the url bar, click the button to display the content, right click inside the window and select new -> boolean. For the preference name type app.update.log and for the value select true. Restart Firefox and open Tools -> Error Console. Click the Clear button. Select Help -> Check for Updates. Please copy / pastes the entries that start with "AUS: " into into this bug report. If there are any errors please select / right click it and select copy those into the bug report as well. Thanks

On Firefox 4.0b8 and Firefox 4.0b7 there isn't a Help->Check for Updates.

Correct and this bug report is for 3.6.12

I have TB 6.0 and my issue is that when it tries to connect to the server for updates, it just sits there and no connection occurs...the bar just spins around and around, nothing happens.
