When i want multiple profiles for my firefox browser, i create and want to store all of them say under "C:\Profiles\" path. When i select this location from the profile creation window, and say i'm creating a profile by name "Official", the profile files should be stored under "C:\Profiles\Official". But all the profile related files are directly created under "C:\Profiles". Problem comes when deleting the profile that all other files under the selected location too get deleted !

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create folder "C:\Profiles"
2. Run the command "firefox.exe -ProfileManager -no-remote"
3. Click on "Create Profile" button.
4. Click "Next" on "Create Profile Wizard" window.
5. Enter profile name as "Official" and click on "Choose Folder" button to choose the directory created in Step no: 1 (ie., C:\Profiles)
6. Click on "Finish" button.
7. Repeat steps no:3 to no:6 to create a profile "Personal".
8. Now select the profile "Official" and click on "Delete profile" button in the "Firefox - Choose User Profile" window.
9. Click on "Delete Files" in the confirmation window.
10. Run the command "firefox.exe -ProfileManager -no-remote"
11. Select the profile "Personal" and click on "Start Firefox" button.
Actual Results:  
You see a warning message reporting "Profile "Personal" is in use".....


Expected Results:  
Firefox launched with the profile "Personal" 

1) Firefox launched with the profile "Personal" or
2) The profile "Personal" should not be displayed or
3) When the user selects the same location for 2 profiles, the second one should not be created prompting user for a different location or
4) When user selects a location, create a folder in the name of the profile and put the files in it.

1) the files are deleted. That it doesn't create new and empty files is a different report.
2) that would not solve the problem
3) this is the only possible way to protect a user from his mistake
4) it's by design to use the folder that the user selected, select a different folder if you want to use a different one.

And, "it's by design to use the folder that the user selected, select a different folder if you want to use a different one." >>> User selects a folder to have an entity called "profile", he/she doesn't have to care what files get in there !!! Dump mozilla files where the user says, and remove ONLY mozilla files when the user doesn't require !!!
Why would Mozilla delete the files which it doesn't own?
And no adequate warning when it does??
And the operation cannot be undone???
I see a bug 302087 raised long back for the same issue and wondering which version of firefox would finally have it fixed? May be firefox 25.x?
