There is no difference between a nightly FIrefox and a nightly Seamonkey for downloading files.
I have no problems with this file and Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:2.0b9pre) Gecko/20101230 Firefox/4.0b9pre SeaMonkey/2.1b2pre.
Do you use the Adobe Reader as plugin or as helper application ?
Please try clearing the disk cache

If you are using adobe reader, try updating to version X

Hi together
Now I updated AdobeReader to version X - and I cleared also the CACHE the errors are the same. If I check the temp-files downlaoded by php the file downlaoded with SeaMonkey has a size of 639kB, the file downloaded with FireFox has 875kB.
What can i do to assist to analyze this error ?

A second additional info.
If I download a completed PDF-object - the download works well. But in this case the document (created with the link and startnumber for example ist 1220) will be created at this moment the download is not completed when the pdf-plugin will open the document - or the downlaod is canceled before complet.

When SeaMonkey crashes the crash reporter should start up.
Allow the crash reporter to send the crash stack to crash-stats.mozilla.org.
Restart SeaMonkey.
Go to "about:crashes" from the URL bar (location bar). You'll get a list of clickable links to each submitted crash report in reverse chronological order (latest first).
Cut and paste the latest few links into a comment here.

Hi Philip
SeaMonkey didn't crash anyway when I did try to open this online-pdf-ducument. I only saw in the right corner statusbar, that the progress-bar is nearly by 70% when the error widowns opens with the message, that the pdf document couldn't repair.

In todays new nightly version 20110102003001 the download of other PDFs (no online documents) is not completed, too.

I ask again, do you download the PDF and let Acrobat open it as helper application or do you use the PDF plugin that itself downloads the pdf in http range requests ?

Hi Matthias
it's the second option I used. The download-request is the link (point 2 in my error report) like in FireFox the PDF-Plugin should show the document.

Hi Matthias
one info more: if the pdf-appl. starts from the SeaMonkey eMail-Client - the application works well - I believe the problem is the broken download (please see 2011-01-04 03:38:11 PST).

The plugin does the download itself if you use it and it's doing http range requests.
Does it work if you set PDF to be opened by an external PDF Viewer ?

Hello Matthias
this error occurs also when Adobe Reader X ist activ if I start this download. Pleas note that the pdf download direktly shows a positiv result. Only this kind of download with the generation of the report "in time" is without success.
The error is not opening file - It's the download which is finished before completion.
the register shows "urkunde.php (application/pdf-Objekt)" if I start this with
http://www.atsv-kallmuenz.de/urkundendruck/urkunde.php?key=seubersdorf2010&nopad=1&snr=1220
