622862 - FF Home: Unable to "Stop" syncing

With 1.1, i am unable to stop a sync in progress.   The "authorizing" throbber continues to spin even though i am repeatedly tapping "STOP"

Repro:
1) install FF Home 1.1
2) Connect to a sync account
3) "refresh" to force a sync (have a large account, or have a flaky network)
4) Tap the "Stop" button.  Verify it does not stop immediately

Expected:
- user taps stop, so the throbber should stop syncing (no authorizing.. .status)

Actual:
- throbber continues to spin, thinking the sync is still happening even though i hit stop

It never stopped immediately. It continues to finish the current thing it is syncing and then cancels. So if you have a lot of bookmarks or history, this could take a little while.

Maybe we should show the progress spinner overlay when you cancel. Then it is more clear that it is an operation that takes a while.

Due to the design of the app it is not really possible to do this better currently.

but i never got to the syncing status.  it was stuck on "authorizing..." cause my device is sitting in flaky wifi mode.

If the behavior is the same even for authorizing status, yeah, i think at least showing the user the progress throbber goes away is a fix for me

Hmmm well it is very possible that we do not correctly handle network errors during cancellation of sync. You did not see an error dialog?

The Firefox Home project has been retired, and Mozilla will no longer invest in future work on this project [1]. All bugs related to Firefox Home are being mass resolved.
