When a drop-down list is expanded while Firefox is already loading another page, that drop-down remains visible on the screen when the other page has loaded. The mouse-over highlighting of the list items doesn't work anymore though. The list window goes away when clicking anywhere on the page, it doesn't seem to cause further problems. I just think that when a new page has loaded, all elements of the previous page should be gone.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on the "Status" link below this bug description
2. Then immediately open the status drop-down list besides, while Firefox is still loading
Actual Results:  
When the new page has loaded, the drop-down is still there

Expected Results:  
When the new page has loaded, the drop-down is gone

Able to reproduce. Click on the "Status" link and immediately click on the drop down list. After page load, the drop down list is still displayed, clicking on the window or scrolling, the drop down list is removed.

Build 4.0.1
Reproduced - Dropdownlist hangs after page is changed and stays there frozen, regardless of loading new web pages, minimising Firefox or maximising another app over the top of Firefox until I close Firefox. Want a screen print?

This bug was reported using a pre-release version of Firefox 4. Now that Firefox 4.0.1 final has been released, can you please update and retest your bug? A fresh profile would be a good starting place to test,

What's that question? The bug has already been confirmed for 4.0.1 by Michael Fort and I also can still reproduce the bug right now with Firefox 4.0.1 on Windows XP. So yes, it's still there!

I can't say I've seen this.
