the drivers@mozilla.org email address needs to be changed to release-drivers@mozilla.org (or removed if that is preferred). Also, the list of people may need updating.
Gerv, do you know if the drivers list needs to be updated or not?
I thought that release-drivers@mozilla.org already existed?

Corey: can you quickly give some rationale for this change? A lot of people know the current email alias... If we go ahead, is there any problem with having drivers@mozilla.org forward mail to release-drivers@mozilla.org?

As for managing the subscribers to that list, that's a matter for the drivers themselves :-)

Gerv
Yes, it does exist. See the referred bug 618102..
Maybe a lot of people know the address, but nobody uses it -- I have had one non-spam email in the last 6 months to that address. I'd rather not have that spam hit r-d, and the bounce message will inform people.
Sorry, I misread the bug - I thought you were asking for the mailing list to be renamed and the list of members updated. I now see it's about a web page.

Sure, if no-one is using drivers@mozilla.org, let's set it to bounce with an informative message.

(I can't see bug 618102. If it's not confidential, please can it be declassified?)

Gerv
We should remove drivers@mozilla.org as bug 618102 comment 4 and others say. It's just spam now, shaver's quite right.

So the original email suggests either removing drivers@ and putting release-drivers@ in its place or just removing drivers@. Is there a preference for putting the release-drivers@ email up or not?

And if you choose to put r-d up, comment 0 also mentions updating the list of people. Is that intended as well?
I removed the link to the drivers@ list and can add the release-drivers@ list and update people as needed.

I'd rather not link to release-drivers@... we don't need the spam that drivers@ gets.

However, that list of drivers is extremely out of date. Should either remove it, link to the various wikimo pages about it, or something else.
For the purposes of removing the deprecated list link, this is fixed. Thanks guys!
