Josh informs me the machine is cunningly named tp-socorro01-master02

Is access to the machine required or does a postgres user need to be set up? I'm not sure how to do the latter. If that is required, perhaps Josh can help set that up. As far as network-wise, lars can log into sp-admin01.phx1.mozilla.com via ssh and connect to postgres from there.

If Lars has a psql client on sp-admin01, he should be able to connect to PostgreSQL from there. That would be preferrable to logging into the PostgreSQL database server itself for this kind of activity.
That being said, I'd *also* like Lars to have a shell login on the PostgreSQL servers. He's the only postgresql-skilled full-time Mozilla staff member assigned to the Socorro project, and as such should have a shell login, even if just for emergency use.

Access works to postgres works now using the breakpad_ro user from sp-admin01 and lars also has a shell account on the db servers.
