It most often resumes regular working status.. but many times, once it hangs for a while, it will continue to be sluggish until a restart. NoteWorthy: - My profiles directory is 1.5GB (which uses many sub-folders for organizing emails) - I have quite a lot of bookmarks. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reproduce this action with any certain criteria, it just happens.

I should note that a 1.5GB profile *directory* doesn't mean it's bug 669034. The symptoms of 669034 is periodic freezing for a second or two every 5-10 seconds, especially while typing or other changes that would affect what gets saved. I don't know Mac, but I would be surprised if it reacted the way described above. The size of sessionstore.js, number of tabs and overall memory use feed far more into bug 669034. Un-duping barring new evidence. As the reporter and analyzer of 669034, I do not believe this is the same issue.

Okay, can you tell me, under what circumstances this problem occurs? Do you have full "Steps to reproduce" for it?

By "Steps to reproduce" is meant a detailed list of simple steps which even a moron could follow: Steps to Reproduce: ------------------ 1. Do this 2. Do that 3. Do something more Actual result: This is what actually happens Expected result: But I see that instead. Yeah, I know you said in comment #0 that you hadn't succeeded to reproduce the problem, but maybe you discovered something new since then? If you don't have specific "Steps to Reproduce" which will display the problem every time, then perhaps you could at least say in which circumstances the problem is most likely to happen? You say it is "every hour or so". In SeaMonkey Mail (not in SeaMonkey Browser), under "Edit → Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings", in the "Server Settings" tab for each of your mail and/or news accounts, check how often you check for new messages. If it is every hour, then the sluggishness could be due to the MailNews component polling its servers. In that case, setting each server to a different periodicity (and, if you have several accounts, choosing periodicities which don't get together too often, for examples values which are mutually prime) might change the symptoms: by getting less mail more often, or more mail less often, the symptoms may get better or worse, but it's hard to predict which; you may have to experiment.

Oops: "Expected result" is of course not "I see that instead" but "I expected that instead".
