I think there should be a new preference under Navigator. It says History,
Languages, Helper Applications, Smart Browsing, and Internet Search. I think
a "Location bar" preference should be added under that. It could include
additions to the right click menu in addition to the default settings(Undo,
Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select All).

over to Apps, setting to New, adding [RFE] to Sumamry. requests like this
usually carry more weight with a patch attached.

The location bar preference would include checkboxes next to the choices. The
choices would be Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Select All, Redo, Go, Search,
Add Bookmark, Open new window, and whatever anyone else comes up with. Some
people may use the keyboard shortcuts, so the Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete
features will not be used. They should have an option to change these to
something they will use.

Is this bug about adding prefs to customize the context menu that appears when
context clicking over the url bar? If so the subject should prob be changed to
refelect that.

Yes it is. Here's an explaination of this preference. By default the context
menu in the location bar will include Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, and Select
All. But in preferences, there will be something called "Location bar" or
whatever you decide to call it, which will most likely be under Navigator. When
you click on this item, it will describe what the preference does and right
below that, it will have 2 checkboxes, but only one can be selected. By
default, the first one is selected which means that the context menu will be
just like the one there is now. The second checkbox will enable you to
customize what you want in the context menu. The first checkbox will be called
Default and the second one would be called Custom or Customize. When you click
the checkbox for Custom, you'll be able to add menu items like: Go, Search, Add
Bookmark, Print, etc. and you can also have the default menu items. Selecting
these menu items will be like selecting the Toolbars in Navigator. There should
be 2 arrows, so you can move the order of the menu items, like if you want Go
first, then Search next, or whatever you want. I think this is a good feature,
so the browser could be customized by the user to make it the way they want it.

Should it be called Location bar context menu preference?

I don't think this would be abig priority on my list of usability fish to fry.
One could also ask why only this contextual menu, why not others? This solution
does not scale at all...
I am worried that for all these settings where it seems so tempting to add prefs
instead of picking the best default for thre audience at hand we end with a very
cluttered prefs file. This is probably a feature that caters to a very small
audience...Forwarding to ben to see whether what his thoughts are...

Maybe there should be a limit to the amount you can select. If this feature is
added, I'm sure people will use it, once they figure out it's useful. Go and
Search in the context menu will eliminate the need for those buttons, but this
will be optional. Whenever you click on a link and it goes to a different site,
you'll be able to add the bookmark by clicking Add Bookmark in the context
menu. It may be tempting to add prefs, but if the user wants a lot in the
context menu, then it's up to them. They can always leave it on the default
setting(Undo,Cut,Copy,Paste,Delete,Select All). It would be cluttered if they
select all the settings, but then it's their fault. If they realize it's
cluttered, then they wouldn't select so many. I just think that this is a good
feature, because the user will be able to customize the browser. If some people
don't like the Go, Search, and Print button, they'll be able to put it in the
menu.

Oh, this is *so* not useful. Any further items added to the address field context
menu would be quicker to get to from the main menus anyway.
