If chrome is hidden on a tab, links should still display the URL of the link somewhere. I suggest that they're displayed in a tooltip that appears instantaneously. If the link has a tooltip already, this tooltip can just be added to the bottom of that.

I'd say bug (rather than enhancement) especially as the UX team have acknowledged the problem and have (since the creation of this bug) mooted a similar proposal for links. But as long as it's done, who cares I guess.

Why is it WONTFIX?
(In reply to [:Aleksej] from comment #2)

Because it's four years old and there's been no movement. It hasn't even been marked as NEW thus I don't believe it's likely that any of the developers know of its existence. Feel free to re-file and cc me in as I still believe it's a good idea.
AFAIK, that's not a good reason for a WONTFIX.

Re-reading comment 0, There's a case to be argued that this bug is already FIXED. This bug was filed when we displayed the link target in the location bar and since we no longer do that, this bug is actually both INVALID and fixed by the current implementation.
Indeed, sorry. That's WFM.

Just FWIW: it is not really a tooltip near the link, and not really zero-delay, but those indeed are most likely WONTFIX now.
