Reproduce:
1. Threaded mode
1. Expand a complete thread
2. Doubleclick on an arbitary post, which has followups, in order to open it in
a standalone window.
Expected result:
- Standalone msg window opens
- Thread pane stays as-is, apart from marking the post as read.
Actual result:
- Standalone msg window opens
- The node collapses, i.e. followups get invisible.
Additional Comments:
Apart from, being just annoying (after all, I *want* it being expanded), it,
together with the 4xp behaviour to not mark a parent as unread, if any child is
unread, might cause me to oversee a few posts.

Also happens for mail. Should we move it to Mail Window Front End?
Component: Networking - News → Mail Window Front End

IMHO it's an XP Toolkit/Widgets: Trees bug because there does not appear to be a
way of preventing the double-click behaviour of treerows.
I'm verifying this for both mail and news, as they share the same code. Double
clicking on a nested message in a tree simply opens the message, doesn't
collapse the thread. Build 2001032104 on Windows 2000, build 20001032108 on Mac
OS 9.1 and build 2001032108 on Mandrake 7.2 with KDE.

Stephen, Mailnews behaviour, especially in this area, is currently so broken and
so much in flux, that I'd like to wait a bit before finally getting rid of this bug.
Verified:
2001-04-02-08 on Mandrake 7.2 with KDE
2001-04-02-08 on Mac OS 9.1
2001-04-02-04 on Windows 2000.
Selecting and double-clicking a message in a parent tree only brings that
message in a new window, and doesn't close the thread it was in.
