Details

i made an addon, downloaded it, then uploaded it to AMO.

it denied immediately because em:version was empty.

we should populate it with something by default.
oy, i made some assumptions. it appears that the default value is "initial", which is invalid.

changing the version number in the builder UI doesn't change the version in the install.rdf. which is way broken.

this is critical, cc'ing the changemakers.
Summary: should pre-populate version number, since AMO won't take addons without it → builder populates em:version with an invalid value, which can't be updated
I agree, we'll get this out in the next push.
Severity: normal → blocker

Hm, I closed the page, opened it up a new tab a while later, and downloaded again. And it had the correct version number. I know I had hit save a few times to confirm that it wasn't user-error though, so that shouldn't be the problem.
Probably a dupe of bug 626719
