When a blank tab is open, hovering over bookmarks doesn't update the "statusbar" in the location bar

Normally when hovering over bookmark items, location bar shows the url of that
item, but if the current tab is a blank tab, the url isn't shown.
In 3.6. statusbar is updated even if the tab is blank.

Still valid in the new linkhover panel in Firefox 4.0 final.

This doesn't seem to make sense. Can you be more explicit about what you're seeing?
