User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0b9) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0b9 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110114 Thunderbird/3.3a2 I was Litmus testing 3.3 alpha 2 Miramar and noticed a problem with the way it displays the headers and mini-toolbar for messages. Unfortunately the Litmus "navigating and displaying" tests don't seem to have been updated to reflect the new message reader user interface or have a explicit test of the message reader so I can't fail one of the tests. If you read a message either in the message pane (F8), a tab or window 1. It moved the buttons (reply, forward, delete - I had customized the toolbar to remove the others) from the right side to the top left corner 2. Indents the From: header about 3 inches to the right 3. Reply has a drop down list next to it, but the list only contains Reply. The message was only sent to me, so there is no reason for a drop down list box for Reply. (old problem, not sure if it has a bug report) This also occurs with the latest Shredder build - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110117 Thunderbird/3.3a3pre I tried the "restore default set" button in "customizing" and that restored the missing buttons in the wrong spot. i.e. no change. So I removed them. However, now when I open a message in a window it lists all of the mini-toolbar buttons. A tab still matches the message pane settings. I was able to customize the window and remove the archive and junk buttons that shouldn't have been there. Reproducible: Always

Are you sure you've not got an RTL preference turned on? Can you provide a screenshot of the issue.
"Are you sure you've not got an RTL preference turned on?" I'm not passing any command line arguments, setting any environmental variables or using a batch file to launch this copy of Thunderbird. I see the same symptoms whether I use the shortcut the setup program created or double click on the .exe in windows explorer. I don't have this problem with 3.0.11 or 3.1.7 (the latter has a shortcut that uses a 2 line batch file to load a jar file used as a yahoo imap proxy). All of the versions use the same profile. Shredder hadn't been updated for about a week and did not have this problem until I updated it yesterday. The batch file 3.1.7 uses contains: javaw -jar C:\Users\eric\Profiles\ImapIdProxy\ImapIdProxy.jar "C:\Program Files\Thunderbird31\thunderbird.exe"
That looks like a non-default theme, have you tried the default theme or safe mode?
I normally use Nuvola 1.9.2. The problem goes away if I use Silvermel 1.3.6, the default theme, or use a persona. The problem comes back if I use Nuvola 1.9.2, Classic Reloaded 1.3.3 , Mostly Crystal 3.1.3 or iLeopard Mail 3.2.6. Did you switch to a different version of Gecko in 3.3 alpha 2? I didn't have these problems with alpha 1.
No, we fixed how RTL is working for the message header in the Thunderbird core (bug 594369). The broken themes will need to be updated by their authors to accommodate that, hence this isn't a Thunderbird issue.

Verified, that was the reason why the patch wasn't taken for 3.1.7 ...
